Harriet Quimby was the first woman to fly her plane across the English Channel.   Early one misty April morning in 1912, she left the English coast and headed across the channel.  About 25 minutes later she sighted the French coast and landed on the beach.  With single mat - 20" x 16 3/8".  The young pilot actually thought she had circled back to England.  Own a piece of history!
